GameRank

The rankings on this site are computed with the GameRank algorithm. This algorithm is similar to the PageRank® algorithm that Google uses to assign importance to each page on the Internet. In a sense, we are assigning importance to each ranked sports team.

"Links" are added from the losing team to the winning team. The rankings are computed with a Monte Carlo-based simulation that utilizes random walks to assess the likelihood that each team has of winning.
